Gatsby Glamour - A Collaboration of Great Proportions

Forgive me Father/Fashionistas for I have sinned, it's been a walloping about of time since I last blogged here. I have been a busy little bee and have less time for internet related endeavours. I have however still been styling and shopping, and dressing myself on a daily basis - you know, fashion related things. I've also run a few fashion shows for my wee business The Powder Room.

Before we launch in to my favourite fashion finds of the moment though, I figure I'll dedicate a few entries to my styling escapades. These shall not be in any time order, as some are from so long ago I simply don't recall when.

So let's go with some of the more recent shoots first. As part of Gatsby fever hitting the world (an infliction I myself was struck with at age 15, when it became one of my favourite novels and I studied it for English Lit) I teamed up with magical Perth photographer David Woolley, known for his beautiful vintage glamour styles (and ability to make your skin look like porcelain, without making you look like plastic) as well as talented local milliner Jessica Bird of Jessica Frank Millinery. After a last minute drop out from our model on the day I madly scouted and managed to pull in tiny and delicious up and coming burlesque dancer Ju Ju Bijou and she rocked it. Thoroughly. She also managed to do her own makeup, and I used wigs on her for this shoot. All clothing is from the Decadence & Hedonism 20s range of dresses, from The Powder Room.

The photos were used to promo David and I's joint event: Gatsby Glamour, which was an excellent night of 20s fashion, photography, dancing, music and performance.

So, my first blog in forever and it's overwhelmingly pictures... but I think you'll agree they're rather pretty ones, so I'm forgiven, right? On that note, I'll leave you with some event and photo booth pictures taken at the Show. Warning: Silliness ahead...
